The 512 Film Festival aims to give college and high school students a platform to showcase their work while promoting the changes we hope to see in the industry. All proceeds will go to SeriousFun Children’s Network, as well as the awards for our student filmmakers. These awards range from film equipment to grants for future projects.

The 512 Film Festival grants student filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their films and be rewarded for promoting diversity, creativity, and all around positive change in the industry with their works. The festival endeavors to help student filmmakers with future projects, which is why some of the awards come with film equipment or grant money that we hope will aid in the filmmaker’s next project.

Who We Are

We are very excited to give back to our local “512” community by offering a high school submissions category for local schools in Austin, Texas. Students may submit a film of any genre to this category, and they will have the opportunity to watch their films on the big screen at the festival! The winner’s school will be awarded a $1000 donation.

All proceeds from submission fees will be donated to SeriousFun Children’s Network. SeriousFun is a global community of 30 camps and programs for seriously ill children. All camps and programs offer free recreational experiences to children with serious illnesses and their family members. You can learn more about SeriousFun and all of the good they do at www.seriousfunnetwork.org
